Coffee

  • Kafayahfukh was latte before latte made it to the US. It is also called simply hafukh or afukh. But the youngest waitresses understand only latte.
  • Aiss (ice) used to be iced coffee but is now more likely to be a coffee flavored slushy.
  • Botz is Turkish coffee (known in Greece as Greek coffee), which is also called kafay turki.
  • You can also get feeltair (filter), which is a French version of drip. Push the filter down to confine the grounds.
  • Israeli restaurants, coffee shops, cafes, and little storefronts do surprisingly good coffee.
